Photovoltaic system follows wind turbine and passive house

October 2015 - For many years ruhlamat has focused on energy production through alternative sources of energy.

In 1999 the company commissioned its first wind power plant. Since then, almost eight million kilowatt hours have been generated, mainly for the company's own energy supply , with excess energy fed into the public power grid.

The construction and occupation of a passive building in 2008, marked the second sustainable step of ruhlamat. In addition to the waste heat of staff and technical equipment, the office building with 2,500 square metres of office space also utilises sunlight to generate energy by means of photovoltaic panels on the roof.

The third current construction project is the expansion of energy production by means of the photovoltaic systems mentioned above. On the roofs of the three production halls 1,886 photovoltaic panels are laid out on a surface area of approximately 3,100 square meters. Energy production of approximately 424,000 kilowatt hours is expected in the first year.

In addition to the alternative power generation for the company ruhlamat aims to achieve economical use of fossil resources and make a sustainable mark.
