The recommendation of higher security features for travel documents by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) led to the development and introduction of the electronic ePassport, in various countries.

In 2006, ruhlamat won the tender for the manufacture and supply of an "ePassport production line" in Taiwan. With our PA2000 and LP2000 modified we have fulfilled all requirements imposed to the complete satisfaction of the costumers.

The Taiwan National Printing Company CEPP is now able to manufacture ePassports completely with the ruhlamat machine production solution. 

Using our high-tech equipment, CEPP can carry out all individual steps for the production of apassport document as well as the laser perforation, the inkjet printing of the passport number and the pre-initialization of the RFID chips.

In addition to our patented procedure for sewing documents on a seperate transport belt, the costumer also benefits from inline quality assurance based on high- quality camera technology. 

Our machines also features stored program control systems (SPC) and an integrated data management system (DMS). Also supplied was a Production Data Management System (PDMS) which, in turn, includes a Key Management System and a Hardware Security Module (HSM). Thanks to this machine equipment, CEPP has state of the art technology and is captable of achieving a high thoghtput.

In May 2008, the functionality and efficiency of our machines in the production process of the Taiwan National Printing Company was certified with the Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
