MACK Group is an amalgamation of three companies: ruhlamat GmbH, Elektro-Mack GmbH and SMR Sondermaschinen GmbH.

With a total of 350 employees worldwide at branches in Europe, Asia and North America, ruhlamat GmbH is the largest member of this Group.
The company has its headquarters in Marksuhl, Thuringia, and its activities cover three principal business areas: assembly technology, chip card and passport processing technology as well as the OEM sector.
ruhlamat is regarded as a leading provider of customer-specific machine solutions in the field of chip card and passport production. Thanks to the modular machine systems, all stages of manufacture required for the production of all types of chip cards and passports can be carried out. In addition, ruhlamat has developed, constructed and set up the world’s first complete device for the production and personalization of passports in full own manufacturing.
In the assembly field, ruhlamat is a manufacturer of handling systems and technologies whose major use is in the automobile industry. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), ruhlamat designs, develops and produces original equipment, ranging from structural components through to complete, modular machine systems, exclusively for customers.
With annual sales of around 25 million euro and a constantly rising number of employees, ruhlamat is regarded as the most successful member of the MACK Group.

With approx. 100 employees, Elektro-Mack GmbH is the second largest company within the MACK Group. With its headquarters in Baindt, Baden-Württemberg, and a branch in Marksuhl, the focus of the company’s activities is on the planning, construction and commissioning of industrial automation technology. In contrast to ruhlamat GmbH and SMR Sondermaschinen GmbH, both created in 1991 from the traditional “Uhren- und Maschinenfabrik” Ruhla, the company Elektro-Mack GmbH was formed as early as 1973 and thus has more than 30 years experience in the field of automation technology. The company has annual sales of around 10 million euro.

With annual sales of approximately 4 million euro and a staff of some 30 people, SMR Sondermaschinen GmbH is the smallest member of the Group. Everything from construction to the manufacture of individual parts and right through to assembly of the automation facilities is carried out customer-specifically within one company. SMR develops and produces for manufacturers of medical technology as well as for suppliers to the automobile industry.
